Ghost Mantis - Phyllocrania paradoxa

This mantis really looks like something out of Aliens! A very cool and one of the most unusual and desirable of mantids in the pet trade.

They grow to about 5 - 6 cm and blend in well with their surroundings with leaf like protrusions from their legs and their wing case looks exactly like a desicated leaf!. Unlike most mantids, several can be kept in the same enclosure. As long as there is ample space and they are well fed they should not cannibalise eachother. Also they are unusually long lived compared to most mantids. Most mantids will only live for one year though the Ghost Mantis will often live for as long as two year.
